PrePlanLive is a Michigan-based Immersive Technology company founded upon the principles of strategic thinking, professionalism, and proactive design. Our team is comprised of first responders, seasoned legal experts, top education professionals, and threat and vulnerability mitigation specialists with extensive experience in planning for – and responding to – the worst possible public safety scenarios. The lessons learned by our team through these experiences resulted in the development a first-of-its-kind technology solution that mitigates – and eliminates where possible – unnecessary public safety risks by enabling and enhancing emergency preparedness planning and response through Enhanced Situational Awareness. Our team fosters the development and integration of specialized technologies that enhance emergency preparedness and drive positive outcomes during incident response activities.

Daniel T. Flanders

Founder & CEO

Dan is a veteran firefighter/paramedic who has responded to thousands of emergency callouts over his 21+ year career. He is also a member of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, where he serves as a SWAT Medic and technical advisor for a leading SWAT teams in the nation. Dan is a practicing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – with a particular interest in trauma/emergency anesthesia – as well as an Instrument Rated Pilot with more than 1,200 hours of flight time. Dan’s lifelong passion for service, and the experience he has gained through his diverse background, led him to create the PrePlanLive SaaS application to improve outcomes in the emergency response community. He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Oakland University. Dan and his wife are the proud parents of two boys, 8 and 9.

Craig D. LaPine

Chief Operating Officer

Craig is a retired U.S. Marine with 21 years of experience planning, managing, and executing national security operations, vulnerability assessments, and Physical Security Surveys. As a Senior Advisor to commanders ranging from the Commanding Officer, Marine Helicopter Squadron One to the U.S. Marine Corps Director of Intelligence, Craig has earned the reputation of a technical expert regarding intelligence and counterintelligence matters, as well as antiterrorism/force protection efforts and physical security connected to the Presidential airlift mission. With extensive technical and tactical expertise, Craig brings a unique understanding of complex threat scenarios and potential response options – and how PrePlanLive can maximize positive outcomes. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (with honors) in Intelligence Operations from American Military University in addition to being a credentialed Department of Defense Counterintelligence Agent.  In 2003, he was a member of the Department of Defense Counterintelligence Collector Team of the Year, and in 2012 was the Honor Graduate from the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Advanced Course. Craig and his wife live in Oxford and are the proud parents of two children.

Scott D. Garretson

Chief Strategy Officer

Scott, a creative technologist at heart, lives for solving business challenges with technology.  As the CEO and co-founder of Brilliant Chemistry (PrePlanLive’s development team), Scott brings more than 25 years of business and technology experience to the PrePlanLive team. His leadership in building teams and businesses, technology planning and strategy, and extensive experience in advertising and marketing helps drive innovation for PrePlanLive.  Scott previously co-founded Vigilant Technologies (2011 INC 500 #312 and board member), held senior leadership positions at Doner Advertising (CIO), Beyond Systems (Partner/VP of Technology), TRW Integrated Supply Chain Management (Sr. Consultant), and participated in various consulting engagements.  He lives in Lake Orion, Michigan with his wife and four children.

Kevin "Mike" Wille

Chief Technical Officer

Mike’s passion lies with building things; be it made of wood, metal, or software. Driven by curiosity and pride of craftsmanship, Mike brings over 18 years of software and product development experience to PrePlanLive.  He attended Kettering University for Computer Science, which led to his work in the automotive industry developing proprietary assembly line software and hardware.  From there, he moved to developing server-side web applications for Doner Advertising.  At Doner, the largest privately-owned advertising agency in the U.S., he led the application development group and was responsible for delivering both internal agency and external client software applications. Working with high profile clients such as Blockbuster, Mazda, Owens Corning, and The UPS Stores paved the way for Mike to co-found Brilliant Chemistry (PrePlanLive’s development team) as a creative technology and ideation studio that consults with startups and businesses to bring their ideas to market. Mike’s obsession to create propels him to explore all technology and apply that to unique and challenging business ideas. He lives in Rochester Hills, Michigan with his wife and 4 children – where you can find him tinkering in his shop.

John "Rusty" Fallin

Senior Program Manager

Rusty has served the Oxford Fire Department for over 13 years as a Firefighter/ EMT, a State of Michigan Fire Inspector, and now as a Sergeant. As such, he continually works with emergency services personnel to train and respond to crisis situations. He holds a Fire Science degree from Oakland Community College. Rusty is a former Sales and Account Manager in the Automotive Industry where his operational and management skills fulfill the needs of his corporate customers.

Brian A. Anklam

Program Manager

Brian is a Fire Fighter/Paramedic with more than 14 years experience in the First Responder community.  He serves as a Paramedic Instructor/Coordinator and Fire Fighter and previously leveraged his emergency medical skills as a Flight Paramedic.  He currently serves as a trustee with his local government in addition to holding a seat on a county-wide school board.  Brian has a technology background and holds multiple tech certifications.  In 2011, he founded a small technology business that allows him to serve his local community in yet another capacity.  Brian’s deep sense of community service, technical knowledge, and First Responder experience make him an invaluable asset to the PrePlanLive team.

Richard D. Nash

Business & Legal Affairs

Rich has been a practicing attorney for over 30 years serving multiple counties throughout Michigan and is the managing partner of Nash/Flanders Associates. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University and a Doctorate from the Detroit College of Law. He is a former school administrator and has served as the President of Dryden Community School’s Board of Education for the last fifteen years. As an attorney and local entrepreneur, Rich has an impeccable reputation for honest dealing and demonstrated community partnership. He resides in Dryden with his wife Janet and is the proud grandfather of nine.

Cody M. Roop

Project Manager

Cody is a current Firefighter/EMT who is also a member of the Oxford Township Fire Department’s Drone Team, where he serves as a UAS pilot supporting firefighting operations.  Additionally, he is a certified Recreational Diver and volunteers extensively within the community, most notably through his service as an assistant football coach.  Cody has extensive experience in 3D capture operations, having been part of several million square feet of 3D capture.   A natural problem solver, his leadership, community-oriented mindset, team-building skills, and work ethic make him an invaluable asset to the PrePlanLive team.
